Since I was a small child I have loved art and had an endless imagination. Beginning to draw when only 6 years old, I can imagine that my 1st portrait of Mr. George Washington, was rather pitiful. Mom encourage me to keep trying, and eventually, with much improvement, the White 🏠Washington D.C held one of my oils on display for three months.. Being self-taught, I learned all mediums from colored pencils to auto body airbrush paint. My work was highlighted in Van News Magazine and my better idea for modified motorcycle tanks shown in Hot Bike Magazine. (O yea, I'm also an inventor) As a portrait artist in all mediums, my friend's airbrushed truck upon which I painted a freehand of Mr. Murle Haggard's 1st album cover, which he signed in gold personally. Country music singers, neighbors and friends alike have walls graced with my life-like portraits. Many are the accomplishments that God has graciously given me. Children's art, such as the KWAGMIRE FOLK, will just be icing on the cake!
Married and residing in Kentucky, mostly, but I so love our Smoky Mountain home in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
I love all my many critters and best of all my grandson, the REAL JENSON.
"LIFE IS SHORT, LOVE WHAT YOU DO WITH THE DEEPEST LOVE POSSIBLE., BECAUSE IT TRULY IS A GIFT"
Good books have always been such a passion of mine. When my daughter was little we would shop for children's stories that were told with the most beautiful artwork. I often thought, "I could do this!" And years after she was grown and Jenson came along, I thought, "I've got to do this!"
With the The KWAGMIRE and the GREAT BIG BUBBLE being my first attempt at children's stories, (which took me years to get the nerve) I have fallen in love with these creatures. I plan future additions to their antics, targeting lessons in life that will teach children that the best decisions are those which always result in the best outcome.
We all must face it at a certain time in our lives; IT IS TIME TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT! The KWAGMIRES are the big change in my life. As my two children left the nest, so have my goals in life. Having accomplished about all in my artist's career that I could, now was the time to include writing as my package deal to accomplish it all, using my grandson, Jenson as my little model.
Having not a clue where to begin, I found Ms. Eevi Jones, children's author, ghostwriter, and self publisher on YouTube. I lucked out! From her I have gained all I know to this date and I thank her with all my heart. She is a sweetheart as well as a life- saver. I highly recommend this knowledgeable lady to anyone who dreams about begining a new career writing children's books. I thank her with all my heart.

The beautiful things in life truly amaze me; pretty colors, the shape of a heart, the glow of bubbles, and the depth and color of a person's eyes...
Those are why I do what I do, and by doing so I can capture such beauty forever. Even in the bad times I can always find things that make my heart feel better just by looking at them. As the old saying goes, "There is always, ALWAYS SOMETHING to be thankful for!" And you can always thank God for that!
This is my original pencil/charcoal/marker portrait of my grandson, the real Jenson Michael Wilson, which I entitled, 'MISCHIEF IN THE MAKING'.
